Salutations and beans and disease to ya;

I am here to announce that a new grind will be taking place soon. We will be trying something new with this grind, where the last grind was about updating three times a week, this one will be just about updating.

I don't know about you, but I've ended up way too busy in my life to update three times a week like I want to, so I haven't been able to participate in the grind because I know I wouldn't last more than a few weeks. So here is where this new grind comes in.

This grind will be a lot more loose when it comes to updating. The participants will be updating however many times a week they please. So there is potential for a few people updating once a week, some doing twice a week, and some doing three or more. The goal is to just update, and as well each one of these laziest grinds will be timed. This test run will be for a month, then after that we'll see how long the next one will go.

Now remember how I was saying this grind will be a lot more loose? well let me explain how:

Participants can update however many times a week they choose.
There will be no dropping out, since there is an ending. So if you do miss an update you can still continue, no penalty
You CAN change your schedule as it goes on, you can increase or decrease the amount of updates you do a week, with no penalty

The important rule here is JUST UPDATE!

I'm thinking afterwards, we'll take a week or two off until the next grind, and in that time possibly give our views on how the grind is going, what to improve on, what is fine, etc.

That's all I really have to say about this grind, as of now we have a few people who said they may partake in this test run:

Mercury Hat
Robin Pierce
Komiyan
Sortelli
Pimpette
Derenge and Lego
Myself

I just know I'm forgetting someone, but they'll be added. I posted this here because I do believe there are some people here who would probably be interested.

I'll say this now, not everyone who posts here and asks to join will be accepted, this is a test run, so I won't need like 20+ people for this. I'll probably only take 3-5 more people at most, if even that. When the real Laziest Grind starts we'll get into the big numbers.

This test run will begin on September 17.

I'm just curious as to how this works. (I know all the kinks haven't been worked out yet)

Is this going to be a contest like the other grinds? If so, how are you going to determine a winner? Or a loser, for that matter?

If not, and this is simply an "update support group", how are you going to encourage people to update? All just a matter of honor and pride?

Cause other people are also trying hard, you try hard too. It's not a contest, no winners or losers.

Pretty much what Komi said, there are no winners and losers. The goal of this is pretty much what the original grinds were suppose to be. They were suppose to be more about updating then "OMG I have to win and crush everyone". To me at least it seems people forgot about that. Everyone was more focussed on "I must win, screw everyone else".

But yeah the only real motivation is that other people are updating with you, some people can use that, and some people will think that's stupid. This test run hopefully will see how well everyone does, and see if it can possibly work.

I'd be game.

I think another variant could be, the winner has the most updates done in X time.

I like that the competition is taken out of it- No winners, just more comics.

I totally don't remember thinking of this but since it's a good idea I will take credit.

Dawg you silly nomo you forgot the "goals" part.
Where people state a goal at the beginning that they want to hit.

Like "I want to try and update at least once a week" or "I want to update regularly in colour" or just "please god let me update just once in this thing."
No penalties if you don't, but it gives you something to strive for in a set time. Sort of a like a deadline, but with no consequences if you are unable to meet it.

I'd like to be a part of this, I really need more motivation to update.

Yeah, that's pretty much my point.

Otherwise, "just trying to update" is what we all pretty much are trying to do anyway, and there'd be no point in calling it a grind to begin with.

Thanks Sortelli. It's from a comic book I bought on eBay, called LADY COP. It's from the 70's and it fills me with empowerment.

And she reminded me of... well... me.

Could I get on this?

I'm facing horrible burnout, but maybe this could encourage me to update instead of saying "fark it" and quit for a while.
